Christopher R. Lopez, MS, PT, OCS, CSCS, is a founding partner of Physical Solutions Physical Therapy and Fitness.  Following completion of his undergraduate studies at Adelphi University, Christopher received his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College in 1998.  Since graduating, Christopher has maintained a strong commitment to continued professional development through participation in continuing education courses and the pursuit and acquisition of several postgraduate certifications.  He is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.  Additionally, he is recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, by Cincinnati Sports Medicine as a Sportsmetrics practitioner, and is FMSC certified by Functional Movement Systems.  Christopher has worked with his professional associations at both the state and national level to promote and advance causes important to his profession.  He recently served as co-chair for the Alliance for Independent Physical Therapists (AiPT), a special interest group of the New York Physical Therapy Association that serves the needs of private practice physical therapists within New York State.

As a clinician, Christopher has nearly two decades of experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting with patients suffering general orthopedic injuries, work related injuries, injuries related to automobile accidents, and injuries from competitive and recreational sports.  He has also participated in the rehabilitation of patients suffering impaired function related to acquired or genetic illness.  Christopher utilizes the evidenced-based science of physical therapy when evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients.  He takes an integrated, whole body approach, to ensure that the underlying, root cause of pain or dysfunction is discovered and addressed.  He also recognizes that many physical problems are the result of poor health generally and strives to minimize the risks of such avoidable problems through the promotion of wellness, where the goal is not only to manage and/or eliminate pain and loss of function associated with injury or illness when it occurs, but to also work towards preventing these problems in the first place through the promotion of better health.

Christopher and his family reside in Suffolk County, New York.  When not treating, he enjoys spending time with his kids, trail running, hiking, weight training, and photography.  He is a member and former president of the Edward Smith Mineola Lions Club, a local charity which has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to causes that help the blind and/or those who run the risk of becoming blind.
